Africa Outreach

Dr Bhat Purnima is a member of the World Endoscopy Organisation African Outreach Committee, which promotes gastroenterology teaching and research in Africa. WEO has now developed and supported several new centres including flagship endoscopy sites in Nairobi and Addis Ababa.

Dr Bhat is hugely enthusiastic about her outreach work and engagement in Addis Ababa. She plans to resume her work there, with the great colleagues and friends, when international travel resumes.

The outreach committee recently issued Endoscopy guideline during COVID-19 pandemic specifically aimed at hospital settings with limited resources.
