She sees patients in her rooms at Brindabella Specialist Centre, Garran, and at the Canberra Hospital, with a variety of medical conditions involving the gastrointestinal tract and liver, including complex multi-system disorders. Her particular interests are in  liver disease, gut-related immune dysfunction, and screening for gastrointestinal cancers.

Dr Bhat performs several endoscopic procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, balloon enteroscopy, chromocolonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening, removal of polyps including endomucosal resection, ablation of bleeding vessels, treatment of gut strictures, treatment of achalasia, haemorrhoidal banding, and treatment of varices. These procedures are performed at Brindabella Endoscopy Centre, at Calvary Private Hospital, Bruce,  and at Canberra Hospital.
